Mobile millimeter-wave solutions that were once considered unachievable, as well as fully integrated RF solutions below 6 GHz, are now answered by Qualcomm.

Qualcomm recently announced the world's first fully integrated 5G new air interface (5G NR) millimeter wave and below 6GHz RF modules for smartphones and other mobile devices. Qualcomm's QTM052 millimeter wave antenna module series and Qualcomm's QPM56xx 6GHz RF module series work with the Qualcomm Xiaolong X50 5G modem.

The most important thing is that the QTM052 module integrates all of these features into a compact package size that supports up to four QTM052 modules in a single smartphone. This will enable OEMs to continually optimize the industrial design of their mobile terminals to help them develop ultra-high-speed mobile terminals that are aesthetically pleasing and have a millimeter-wave 5G new air interface.

Millimeter waves are suitable for providing 5G coverage in dense urban areas and crowded indoor environments, while extensive coverage of 5G new airspace will be achieved through the frequency band below 6 GHz. These RF modules below 6 GHz provide mobile terminal manufacturers with a feasible path to support 5G new air interface massive MIMO technology in mobile terminals.

If you use millimeter wave transmission, the peak downlink speed can reach 5Gbps. In the MWC show in February this year, Qualcomm has achieved the network transmission rate of 4.63Gbps by using millimeter wave technology, which is unimaginable in the 4G era. fast. If you use the frequency band below 6GHz, the speed can reach 400Mbps-500Mbps.

At present, the QTM052 millimeter wave antenna module series and the QPM56xx 6GHz or lower RF module series are being sampled by Qualcomm customers. It is expected that mobile hotspots will use new modules later this year, and smartphones will be introduced in the first half of next year.
